MEET SOMEBODY’S BABY

SHE WANTS TO BE SOMEBODY’S BABY TONIGHT

It is like a little sliver of Hope- knowing Baby is with you, in your capable hands....

- David E.

BACKGROUND

Baby has been owned for many years by two people who loved her very much.  She is one of the very few private surrenders we accept, but she was in dire straits.  Her owners could no longer afford to care for her nor were they able to visit her often at the farm where she had been boarded.

Baby developed an abscess at a point just behind her right front elbow.  When we first saw her, the wound was pussy, but draining.  She also had moderate rainrot on all four lower legs, and was in need of a dental float.

THE ROAD TO RECOVERY

Baby is recovering nicely.   She is almost back to a normal weight for her height.  The abscess on her leg is healed but there will be a permanent bump due to granular tissue.   She’s gone through the normal process of being slightly food aggressive so her treats go into her bucket instead of being fed by hand, but otherwise we’ve seen no behavioral or soundness problems.

LOOKING AHEAD

We anticipate that Baby will be ready for adoption around mid-August, 2010.

If you would like to visit Baby or any of the horses at our barn or foster locations, please contact us.  Rescued horses make wonderful companions whether they are ridden, shown, or just hanging out as your friends.

Thank you for reading about Baby.
